CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
BRUSHING
Brush your suit before and after wear to keep the fur looking nice! Fur will crimp and get matted if left unbrushed for too long, so it's important to keep your suit brushed. A slicker brush is best, and one is included in your box for you. Over brushing and brushing too hard is not recommended, as it might pull the fur fibers out. A gentle once over is all you need!
WEAR
Although our heads are lined, it is recommended to still wear a balaclava underneath as well as under armor for your body. This will help keep your suit from getting sweaty and keeps you cool.
WASHING
Washing is done with COLD WATER ONLY! Heat will indefinitely ruin your suit and it cannot be fixed. For your bodysuit, hands, tail, and feet, these can be put in the washing machine. If you have removable padding, you can choose to take this out and wash separately.
Put your machine on a gentle/delicate cycle, cold water, wash with detergent and once it's done, add an extra spin cycle. This helps squeeze most of the water out of the suit.
For heads made prior to 2022, fill your tub with COLD water. Add a SMALL amount of a gentle detergent. Submerge the head, and gently wash it, taking care to clean the inside of the head as well. Avoid getting the eyes wet. Rinse with cold water, and let the head drain and squeeze gently to get rid of excess moisture. Do not pick up a soaked bodysuit or head, as you may stretch the fabric or rip the foam as fur and foam hold on to water like a sponge and make these parts very very heavy.
For heads made in 2022 and onward, our dye sub eyes are completely waterproof, making the entire suit machine washable. you may put your head in the washing machine (as long as it has NO center agitator) on COLD water only. You may wish to use a gentle cycle.
You can use Folex for spot cleaning your suits!
DRYING
Faux fur should never be put in a dryer unless it is put on AIR DRY ONLY. NO HEAT! If you use your machine on AIR DRY, we recommend about 2 hours on air dry.
If you do not use your machine, lay your suit out somewhere flat, brush, and point fans on it to help it dry faster. Make sure you continue to brush the suit periodically while drying, if you do not brush it the fur looks very unsightly and matted once it dries.
Make sure all parts of your suit are COMPLETELY dry before storing! Heads and Feetpaws will take from 4-6 days to dry completely, handpaws tails and bodies will take about 3 days.
STORING
Please be sure to store your head and bodysuit in a cool, dry ventilated area. Keep all parts away from heat and direct sunlight. Store heads somewhere where they will not be crushed. Bodysuits should be hung up on a clothes hanger, do not fold them as the fur will crimp.
DISINFECTING
For fursuit spray of any kind, shake very well, and spray 4-6 inches away from the suit. Use minimally on the outside of the head and body if it has a scent (Avoid the eyes for suits prior to 2022) and use gently on the inside of the head and body for disinfecting. Sprays can also be used as spot cleaners, although Folex is best.
